Published by Women of Egypt: Heba El Zahed Teaches Children Etiquette Through the Tales and Adventures of Babu the world explorer

Women of Egypt is delighted to feature the inspiring work of Heba El Zahed, who firmly believes that etiquette is not just a rigid set of rules or instructions to be memorized. Rather, it is a vital set of life skills that helps children interact with others with confidence, respect, and a deep understanding of the beautiful differences between people and cultures.

A Global Perspective

Born in Denmark, Heba’s life has been divided between Egypt and several European countries, giving her the unique opportunity to immerse herself in diverse cultures from a very young age.

  • Professional Background: She studied tourism and business administration and has held administrative positions in several major international hotels.
  • Expertise: She holds a diploma in Etiquette and Protocol and has successfully delivered training programs for numerous major institutions and corporations.

Enter “Babu Around the World”

Leveraging her extensive expertise in the art of etiquette, Heba launched “Babu Around the World” (بابو – حول العالم). This innovative children’s book series is designed to teach etiquette in a fun and engaging way through storytelling and adventure, breaking away from the traditional, direct-rule approach.

In this exciting series, children travel alongside Babu—a cute, smart, and relatable monkey—to different countries across the globe. Along the journey, young readers get to:

  • Discover exciting new cultures.
  • Learn how to respect others in a simple, accessible way.
  • Understand how to treat people with kindness and propriety.
  • Practice expressing themselves with self-confidence.

In the very first book of the series, Babu takes his young readers on an exciting trip to Paris. Looking ahead, Heba plans to release a total of eight books in both English and Arabic, aiming to reach and positively impact the largest possible number of children.

Giving Back: The “1% for Kindness” Initiative

Beyond education, the project carries a beautiful philanthropic message. It includes the “1% for Kindness” initiative, which is dedicated to providing books to less fortunate children, granting them the same magical opportunity to discover the world through reading and learning.

A New Vision for Child Development Through this featured profile, Heba El Zahed strives to introduce a fresh, modern concept for teaching etiquette to children—one rooted in understanding, real-world experience, and pure enjoyment. It is driven by her unwavering belief that self-confidence and respect for others are not innate traits, but beautiful skills that can be nurtured from a young age in a simple way that speaks directly to a child’s heart.
